What can we do about a crazy landlord?

we're living with a drunkard who has decided to blow the fuse and cut of electricity in our house. we rent from him.

any adivice? we cant live without light....

  1. is he a landlord or is it a roommate situation?  Who is responsible for the electric bill?  has it been paid?  If so, then you have legal grounds ...

  3. He cannot cut your electricity unless you're responsible for the bill and are not paying it. Call your local landlord tenant board.

  4. This is a big enough problem that you can break your lease, with cause, if he doesn't fix the problem.  Call the county office that handles this sort of thing (look in the blue pages for "Landlord/ Tenant Affairs" or something) and ask if this is bad enough for you to break your lease (if he does not fix the problem) and what the procedure is to go about breaking the lease.  Then just go about doing this and move out if you must.
