  1. Ha.  Sorry but there is nothing we can do other than change ourselves.  People are being programmed to be narcissistic.  We love the famous and beautiful celebrities we see on television and just cant help but to want to be like them.  I am not saying people dont have a choice in whether they should be narcissistic or not but they are definitely conditioned to view it as something positive.  I believe this is a growing problem in society, specifically america, and its something people need to look into themselves and stop.  I believe that narcissism can only be stopped on a personal level but i could be wrong.

  2. have to do something to extremely humiliate and humble the narcissist.

  3. you can get over it. thats one solution

  4. Besides it a psychological disorder that the individual would need to seek help, not a disease.

That said, one way we could reduce the effect, is to stop putting so much emphasis on the way a person looks.  To the point we overlook prime personality flaws. A good example is Brittany Spears.  Even though this young woman is finally getting the psychological / medical help she's needed.  We were so obsessed with her appearance that many (including doctors/family/friends) overlooked her psychological breakdown until it was too late.  Our society is so caught up in the perfection that one stumble is a downward spiral to oblivion and a VH1 special  (Where are they now?).

It's no wonder that since we've put these "stars" on such high pedestals that we have turned some of that obsession for perfection onto ourselves. Thus, with the help of well meaning friends/family have contributed to their narcissism. Plus, when you can plaster yourself on a My Space account and ask "How do I look" and become an overnight sensation, I can only imagine that that would feed a narcissistic personality quite well. Having the audience to confirm their thoughts, having people telling them just what they want to hear, exactly as they had thought to themselves.

  5. its really not that serious. There are plenty more important things to worry about.

  6. Nothing?

  7. Narcissism is a personality disorder.  Not much anyone can do about it.  If you know someone who is a narcissist and it bothers you, just ignore them.
