  1. Don't smoke.

  2. Technically Rhythm is incorrect (first answer)

Firstly misquotes the article and then misunderstands it.

CO2 equivilant is not actual amount.

Cars release CO2, Cows release CH4, Methane is a vastly more effective greenhouse gas than CO2 therefore only a small amount of CH4 is required to have the same affect as a massive amount of CO2

  3. Really nothing as 99,8 % of the global warming comes from the sun, and 0,2 % from polution, but don't worry as the sun will reach its maximum within a few years time.

  4. its not man made, mars' ice caps are melting just as fast as ours

  5. We can't. The so called CO2 emitting by humans is so small compared to volcanoes and forest fires. Also the sun determines if we have global warming or global cooling.

Right now, we have global cooling. read on here http://www.dailytech.com/Temperature+Mon...

  6. to prevent global warming,

    Step 1:

Drive less. Take bikes, walk or carpool whenever possible.

    Step 2:

Consider investing in a hybrid or electric vehicle to help prevent against further global warming.

    Step 3:

Replace all the lightbulbs in and around your home with energy-efficient fluorescents that use fewer watts for the same amount of light.

    Step 4:

Clean or replace your filters monthly.

    Step 5:

Choose energy-efficient appliances when it's time to buy new ones.

    Step 6:

    Decrease your air travel.

    Step 7:

Wash clothes in cold water and line-dry whenever possible.

    Step 8:

Use a low-flow showerhead, which will lessen the hot water used but not drop your water pressure in the shower.

    Step 9:

Cut down on your garbage—buy fewer packaged materials to prevent further global warming.

    Step 10:

Unplug electronics when they are not in use, because they still take up energy. At the very least, turn items off when they’re not being used.

    Step 11:

Run the dishwasher and clothes washer only when you have a full load, and if available, use the energy-saving setting.

    Step 12:

Insulate your home better, and don’t forget to repair or replace worn caulking or weather-stripping. Insulate your water heater.

    Step 13:

Buy recycled paper products and recycle as much of your waste as possible.

    Step 14:

Bring your own reusable canvas grocery bags when grocery shopping.

    Step 15:

    Plant a tree.

    Step 16:

Have an energy audit done on your home so you can find the trouble areas and fix them.

    Step 17:

    Use nontoxic cleaning products.

    Step 18:

Shop locally for food. A farmer’s market is an excellent place to visit. And choose fresh food over frozen foods. Fresh takes less energy to produce.

    Step 19:

Keep your car tuned up, and check tire pressure often to save gas.

    Step 20:

Eat less meat and more organic foods in your diet to do your part in preventing global warming.

  7. new report just out, temperature down world wide, Temperature down more this year than the last 100 years.

  8. We cannot not prevent it as global warming is already going on.

There is in general two ways to attack it:

    1. reduce the generation of additional greenhouse gases

    2. turn existing greenhouse ito other gases not causing global warming

To point 1 a lot of effort is going on on different areas, like reducing mpg for cars, introduction of alternative techniques as electric power engies and also a lot is happening on getting a broader usage ot solar energy.

  9. Stop eating meat immediately.

"Rearing cattle produces more greenhouse gases than driving cars, UN report warns"

    *edit*

MOSMOSMO:  You are retarded, I CUT AND PASTED THE HEADLINE of the article.  How can it be misquoted?  And how do you have any idea if I understand it based on me quoting the headline.

I understand perfectly, you apparently have problems reading.

  10. I wouldn't worry about "global warming".....there's a buzz going on right now that points towards global cooling.  I have a funny feeling that the sun has more to do with our climate than we do.

  11. Use less automobiles, use cycle or walk. Plant more trees. Manage your garbage better. Use automobiles with bio fuel which does not harm the environment.

  12. Eliminate all events that use energy and require travel:

    NASCAR

    World Series

    Olympics

    IPCC conferences

    Indy 500

    NBA Championships

    NCAA sporting events

    Super Bowl

    Soccer World Cup

    etc....etc....

Such events require that collectively.... millions of people have to travel.

    See where this is headed??
