What can we do to protect aboriginal culture?

Let's see, we deliberately prevent a group pf people from receiving medical care, make then subsist in a primitive state and provide them with none of the benefit we enjoy. Why?

An anthropology teacher once bemoaned the Inuit's loss of culture. When asked she pointed out the prefab buildings, snow machines, and electricity. She'd never slept in a snow cave, lived by seal oil lamp or had to kick start a dog team. However, she expected the Inuit to be happy savages and do so.

Given, the impact of civilization on an aboriginal group is often devastating. At the same time they should be allowed to make an informed choice.
