I'm trying to figure that out, the average temp has dropped by 1/2 a degree over the last 150 years, thats means it's getting colder right?

  1. Isn't the globe warming up, not cooling down?

  2. global warming i dont think can be stopped but we can stop helping it becoming faster,this requires global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,

    At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.

    POSITIVE ACTIONS

    if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to slowdown the destructive processes

    reduce carbon emisions,and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials,aerosol cans,burning rubbish,industrial chimneys,powerplants etc.

    the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.

    the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia

    Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.

    the protection of existing forrests.

    stop building more highways,urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.

    education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.

    education on environmental awareness

    education on family planning to curb over´populaion

    Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.

    more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires,such as--fire breaks

    ,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour

    alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine

    recicling wastes,limit water use

  3. You can't. Global warming is caused by the sun. It is now known that all planets have global warming right now.

    Temperatures have only increase by 0.65 of a degree in the last 100 years say NASA.

  4. Most probably you must be living in ice age, i suppose.

  5. Nothing at all. You can't stop, change or 'fix' nature. It takes care of itself. The only thing we can do is adapt.

  6. Sit back and relax.  Change nothing you are doing and do nothing to interfere with others freedoms and liberties.  Eventually the temp will change according to the real factor's involved not the made up ones from the liberals who want your money.

  7. The average temp has risen. It could be that Global Warming is off-setting the efects of man. Not every scientist endorses it as it is presented.

  8. first, it is global warming and not global cooling;

       water solidifies (into ice and snow) when it cools down; it cools down by releasing heat to its surroundings; ergo, there is a short duration of warmness when water starts to freeze (don't you notice that in the last part of autumn, just before winter sets in, the ambient temperature rises slightly?) and water liquifies when it absorbs the heat around it (which makes the surroundings cooler);

       so, when the global temperature goes up, the ice at the polar regions and the permafrost in the tundra begin to melt; the global heat is absorbed so the ice and snow melts, hence there is a cooling effect, even though it is supposed to be warming up;

    now, in answer to your question, the best thing to stop and even reverse this global climate change trend is to stop the destruction of the environment, go into sustainable development mode (if needed, and not any of the kind that Big Business is advocating); studies have shown that if we just give nature enough time alone, it can restore the balance that we humans have taken away;

  9. The temperature has gone up about 0.6 degrees C in the last 150 years.  The black line in this graph is the accepted data:

    Here are the reasons why (we're mostly the problem, the sun is about 10%):

    That may not sound like a lot.  But 2 degrees C (where we're heading fast) will cause devastating effects.

    Things we can do:

    Conserve energy

    Develop alternative energy sources.

    Develop means to capture CO2.
