What can we do to stop Global Warming and subsequent destruction on Earth???

I think its high time we stood up and prevent our future from getting destroyed and do ur bit to stop the thing which we have started.We should conserve the to-be extinct species and prevent the disaster which could very well alter the world map.

What do you think??

Shall we start internet signature campaigns and submit them to the leaders of our countries urging them to take the intiative and stop squabbling and save Earth.

Mankind can not alter solar cycles (the driving force of climate change).  Mankind can not prevent the sun from dying out (the cause of Earth's eventual demise).  What we CAN do is make each other miserable with crazy religions and laws...

I know it's a bit harsh, but it's true in it's own way. Take for an example the movie Doomsday. Natural Selection. Adaption.

Those are what we need.

And if we all do face global warming. Well we either we adapt to it or we get left behind (you know what I mean)

first we shud make a community. then we will try to stop global warming near by us becuz good things shud start from our own home &then we will go to a township, then city ,then villages &

We sud make each and everyone think off it, such cud b made only wit media lik tv... needa touchin  ad wit some great people.... but for sure, we cud save the earth only if each and everyone realises the threat....

A signature campaign is a waste of time, just like thinking we can do anything to stop the forces of nature. What we need to do is concentrate on the things we can change like: Preserving our Rainforests, Planting more trees. Keeping our lakes, rivers and oceans clean, Keeping the air we breath as clean as we possibly can. These are the things we have control over and that's what we should be concentrating on.

Listen to Mikira. This is the second time I happened on one of her answers, and she is right. We are NOT CAUSING GLOBAL WARMING. Real students of climatology recognize that events like this have happened before, and will probably happen again before Earth becomes a burnt up cinder. Let's focus on things we can change. Recycle! Stop chopping down the rain forests. Stop using chemical fertilizers which only end up in the ocean, causing "dead spots". If we drive gas guzzlers, drive less, and keep them tuned up. Don't litter! Don't dispose of all of d**n plastic water bottles in such a cavalier fashion (drink tap water!). There is a lot that we can do to clean up the earth, but nothing we can do to change the climate.

Come on, we all know that 90% of the cause of global warming is due to us. So if we lessen us, then we lessen global warming.

The first thing we need to do is to get our own house in order. Reduce your carbon footprint.  Work within your community to implement change, with HOA's, church groups, etc.

And I don't know about Internet signatures, but there are a number of organizations you can support to lend your weight to organized efforts to get the nations of the world to sit up and take notice, because we have.

Politicians seldom lead anymore, they can't pull off executing a vision because they come under fire.  But right now that's exactly what we need, leaders with a strong vision of how to change the status quo without crushing local and world economies.  A vision that encourages change could and should be good for the economy if implemented correctly.

2.Each and everyone being a member of earth should try to take intiatives such as arranging campaigns etc or help in intiatives taken by others

3.Air Pollution should be minimized

You are absolutely right that it is high time we should do SOMETHING to save our planet!! I have listed some simple ways which can be used to help stop global warming but they will only make a difference if all of us inplement them--  

Step 1>

Drive less. Take bikes, walk or carpool whenever possible.

Step2>

Consider investing in a hybrid or electric vehicle to help prevent against further global warming.

Step3>

Replace all the lightbulbs in and around your home with energy-efficient fluorescents that use fewer watts for the same amount of light.

Step4>

Clean or replace your filters monthly.

Step5>

Choose energy-efficient appliances when it's time to buy new ones.

Step6>

Decrease your air travel.

Step7>

Wash clothes in cold water and line-dry whenever possible.

Step8>

Use a low-flow showerhead, which will lessen the hot water used but not drop your water pressure in the shower.

Step9>

Cut down on your garbage—buy fewer packaged materials to prevent further global warming.

Step10>

Unplug electronics when they are not in use, because they still take up energy. At the very least, turn items off when they’re not being used.

Step11>

Run the dishwasher and clothes washer only when you have a full load, and if available, use the energy-saving setting.

Step12>

Insulate your home better, and don’t forget to repair or replace worn caulking or weather-stripping. Insulate your water heater.

Step13>

Buy recycled paper products and recycle as much of your waste as possible.

Bring your own reusable canvas grocery bags when grocery shopping.
