You would not gain anything by answering the questions and getting points. But you get the satisfaction by informing what you knew, to others who need it. No body is expert of all the fields. For example most of the people do not know what D.C means in Washington D.C. I got the answer from yahoo. It is District of Columbia. Thankful to the answering community. I got the answer easily and immediately

you cannot do anything with them, they mean absolutely nothing. Whether you have 100 points or 1 million points has no bearing on anything. Additionally, you can be at level seven with 1000 "best answers" but you will still get "violation notices" from yahoo, saying you have broken their rules, which they arbitrarily enforce. There is no consistency from the censors and the answers site is on a long slow decline into uselessness.
