  1. At one my son was walking and talking a little. I always made the mistake of comparing him to his cousin who was the same age and it did nothing but make me crazy. If your baby is doing okay and the doctor has no concerns then relax. Good luck.

  2. Not much. He can take a couple of steps and babble. No words yet.

  3. not much really, just says mama, dada, baba, numma's (food), waves, walking, playing with blocks. Learned how to open up the cabinets and now makes tons of messes.  She's a dancer, loves to dance.  Even turns the radio on by herself so she can dance.  I can never watch a whole show without her turning the t.v. off or changing the channel :)  just a typical 1 year old.  (turned 1 two weeks ago)

ha ha! mine plays with our cat too.  They are actually good friends the cat follows her everywhere.  and she knows that the sound of the microwave means bottle! and If I ask her if she want some numma's she'll run to the kitchen and hold her hands up to her chair :)

  4. Mine turned one on the 7th of June.

He started walking a week before that. By the time he was one he would say mama, dada, daddy, bubba, bite, cat, bye bye, hi, blow kisses, wave to you, play peek a boo with the pillows or blankies.  He would turn on the DVD player, point to things he wanted and say "that". If we asked him who was here he would run to the dining room window and look out. Or if we asked him where the dog or fish is he would take us to it. We taught him to say thank you when you handed him stuff. He started pretending that he had something in his hand and try to give it to you so you would say thank you. We would tell him- "Give me a piece of your heart"

Now that he's 14 months he'll say lady (our dogs name), and when he's finished with something he'll say done.

I was worried about my little guy being behind because I would hear other babies say things like "puppy" and stuff.  I guess it's all what they hear and how often you teach them. Mine knows what color red and blue are now....

  5. mine just turned 1 on the 1st.  the next day he started taking a couple steps...but not much since then!  he knows how to throw things on the floor, he's very interested in electronics (loves the TV remote, cell phones, etc).  he talks to the cat and is learning how to pet him nicely (and the poor cat hates every minute of it, but he's a trooper!).  he loves to climb stairs and open and close doors.  he's even very careful about his fingers ewhen he closes them.  ummm...that's all i got, i think.  oh oh!  he's finally started sharing.  he loves giving mommy and daddy goldfish crackers!  oh and he knows what ice cream is too...opens his mouth as soon as he sees the cup!

  6. My son just turned 15 months, but most of what he does now, he's been doing for quite a while.

He can say ... cat, bird, dog, meow, woof, cow, duck, quack, dirty, juice, more, hot, good, bad, bath, momma, mommy, bye bye, hi, night night, gone, junk (what he says whenever we get the mail.. lol .. cause I always say "nothing but junk mail!") and shoes (he's always coming up to me with a pair of shoes, saying "shoes!" until I put them on.)

He can go up stairs all by himself, and downstairs with help, he can turn his tv on and off (as well as his DVD player)

He sings along to songs (with the basic rythm of them anyway.. for instance, sometimes I'll sing "ay yi yi yi" and he'll say "yi yi yi!" along with me)

He plays peek a boo, hide and go seek, and "tag." He claps his hands, and does the spider hand movement whenever we sing "itsy bitsy spider" ... he waves, he holds his hands out - palms up - whenever he runs out of something or wants more of it.

Those are just some of the things he does. lol - he keeps me busy!!!!

Oh and he also shares, but knows when I pretend to take a bite, and so if I don't actually take a bite, he will keep putting it in my mouth until  I do. =/ I  end up having to eat things that I don't necessarily like (gerber graduates crackers.. *shudders*)

He also gets up and down from his bed, the couch, my bed, etc.. He brushes his own teeth every night too.

  7. My son has something called hypotonia which basically means he has a floppy muscle tone. I don't know why, he was just born with it.

Don't worry I've been told it's not serious, it just means the big stuff is going to take him a bit longer.

His fine motor skills are great (as must be his eyesight as he can pick up things I can't even see). However he cannot stand. Most babies even when quite young can support themselves on their legs if you hold them but my son is 13 months old and does not do this.

I've been told by the physio not to worry as he is making progress. He can now get around by shuffling around on his bottom, can sit up from lying down and lie on his stomach without getting upset.

Part of me can't wait for him to walk, but at the same time I know I,m gonna be in big trouble when he finally finds his feet.
