the pool is at an apartment complex and is only 3and 4 feet deep. Have noticed a white powder on the bottom, and one corner that has turned real dark.

  1. just dont go in. people are trifling, i was at a public lake and this couple were having s*x in the water.

  2. When in doubt stay out. The pool sounds like it isn't being maintained properly.

  3. White powder might be ok,  CHLORINE , just make sure there is chlorine in it!!!  Dark is probably algae, needs to be scrubbed filtered, filter change and clean, then a choline shock.   DO NOT SWIM IF THERE IS NO CHLORINE!!!!!

Send me a picture.  with something on the bottom so I can see, I may have a much better Idea:)  agualobo@yahoo.com

  4. If the pool is not kept clean and the correct type and amount of chemicals used, it can be full of bacteria and things you don't want to come in contact with.

Doesn't sound like your pool is being properly maintained at all. I'd forego using it.
