  1. call a doctor since in your current condition you can't do much

  2. You can try a reputable massage therapist to work with him. The nerve is generaly being pinched by a muscle that has tightened around it. If you can get the muscle to relax then it will stop tightening around the nerve. My husband had a slipped disc and a daily massage helped him tremendously. He was a non believer until then (in massage) You can also have your mom try to do it on him but be careful if you put too much pressure on the area the reflex is for the muscle to tighten. There are some MT's that will make housecalls for an additional fee. You can check with local chiropractors to find a MT that is professional and reputable. You can also check to see if his insurance company covers this service as they are starting to and they will give you a list of providers that they work with. A good MT will also help by giving him exercises to strengthen this area after he is recovered so it wont happen again.
