What can you do as a normal police officer to be more noticed by swat?

Kiss as much A-- as humanly possible.

Be busy.  Stay proactive.  Use good tactics in your encounters.  Keep up with your defensive tactics training.  Go out of your way to get extra time at the range.  Be as good a cop as you can.

Eat your cereal every morning and don't talk back to your mother...  

If you were a cop, you would know this stuff....

Also, get ready for the longest hours that you will ever work in your life...  Live your life by a pager, have no family life and work like a slave.  If you have any doubts about having to shoot someone, then don't even think about it.

You don't get "noticed," you apply for SWAT and then take a physical agility test to show you are qualified.
