What can you do for a digital camera that fell in water?

open it up as much as you can and use a blow dryer.

let it sit out for maybe 2 days if it doesn't work.

if it doens't , you're screwed.

whatever you do don't turn it on.  take out the batteries and memory card and leave the camera on a counter on a washcloth or something for a few days.  hopefully all the water will evaporate or leak out by then and you can try turning it on.

My sister dried one off and put it in a ziplock bag over night with a peice of bread. did the trick for her

Take the batteries and memory card out immediately, look into your warranty, and use a blow--dryer, than let it dry out for a week (7 whole days just to be safe).

Try it again.

It will probably be all right, especially if it was fresh water, and especially if it didn't stay in too long.

Put it in a dry place - in front of your dehumidifier if you have one, or just a cool, breezy area, otherwise.

If you can turn it on to open and extend the lens, that will help.
