On a long car trip i always read a book, listen to my Ipod(or mp3 player), play my DS(PSP, Gameboy, etc)  Watch a movie if you have a built in dvd or vcr in your car, or use a portable one, play the license plate game, play magnetic checkers, chess, or any other game that two or more people can play that can clean up fast.  You can write a story, try to write the alphabet like you were looking into a mirror, make up a song and sing it, talk with the people you are in the car with, draw a picture, do an activity book, time how long you can hold you breath(dont pass out though!) have a spelling bee, and what i do when we have to go on long car trips: print out homemade activity sheets for your kids that include fun facts about where they're going, a word search relating to your destination, a map of where you started, where you end, and everything in the middle,(on the map you can include sites that are recognizable, like a giant can of beans for a bean factory, a giant pumpkin for a pumpkin farm, etc for your kids to keep an eye out for.  Hope this helps!

if you have a hand held video game you coupld bring that (psp,ds,gameboy) or you could read a book or listen to mp3,ipod,zune ect. if you have a portable dvd player you can watch a movie. if you have cell phone call someone or text. thats all i an think of right now hope this helps.

This ones really fun. Take all the letters on a car's license plate and form them into a phrase, with each word beginning with a letter, in the same order as they appear. For example, GEP could be "Gorillas Eat p**p," or something silly like that. Try to make them as funny as possible. This makes time fly by.

I've been in lots of long car rides in Summer when i was in Spain, we rented a car and we drove from city to city.

Theres lots of things you can do..

- You can listen to your ipod or Mp3 player

- Read a book / magazine

- Listen to the radio

- Draw

-Use dry erase markers to draw on the windows [ lol ]

- See how much you can annoy the driver [ haha just joking ]

- Play ' I spy with my little eye '

- enjoy the silence and sleep

- take pictures

there are tons of things you can do on a long ride. I personally prefer to listen to my mp3, or take a couple of naps. But you can always bring a book to read, or get a portable dvd player to watch a few movies on.
