I have a little car that is fast but I am so sick of these larger trucks or jerks that ride behind me with their high beams on. One night it was real icy and this truck tailgated me with his high beams on. Is there a way to get back at them without beating them up, shooting them, or throwing a rock at their car?

  1. The safest move to make is to move toward the outside of the lane and slow SLIGHTLY.  You can also pull over and stop, which lets them ahead of you.  I'd even pull into a store or such.

  2. a mirror the same dimensions of your back window sounds good.

  3. You need to put them in front of you, obviously. That's an easy question.   If they're tailgating you, then they probably won't hold you up if they're in front of you.

Your question is so easy, that your failure to answer it yourself is a little scary.  Sounds like you might be a nut.

  4. The road rage that import guy generates is the stuff that gets people run over or shot. I usually slow and move over to let them pass. If you're driving a small car they may not be on high beam. If their lights are poorly adjusted they will light up a small car the same as high beams on some cars do. Texas used to have head light adjustment on their annual safety inspection. A lot of people complained that it was just a way for the inspectors to make extra money so they dropped it. The adjustment of the head lights in the state of Texas have gotten so bad it's pathetic.

  5. You can't really do anything directly to them, but you could whip out your cell and call the police (they do recommend this btw); Take it from me I have been rearended; it is the easiest way to get injuries; you could also get their tag and tell the police that.

  6. i throw a handful of pennies out my sunroof, thatll learn em

  7. Adjust your mirror so you aren't blinded, move over if possible, and slow down to encourage them to pass.

  8. as much fun as import guy's suggestion was, I don't recommend playing that game with a Truck. There's that or changing lanes, allowing them to pass, than driving behind them with your highbeams on. This one is clearly not for versus transport trucks either...

There are rear view mirrors you can merely flip down, that remove glare or bright lights. You can still see everything, but it's like having sunglasses on your rear view mirror. Once they are no longer behind you, you can merely flip the mirror back up to normal mode. This would be the passive solution.

Edit: The Pennies outside the sunroof sounds humorous in theory; but at this point you are basically attacking the other driver. They can now more or less hit your vehicle and run you off the road and it would be self defense...

  9. The best thing is to let it go.....lifes too short to worry about what other people do....however........adjusting your mirrors so the light is reflected back to them isn't too bad......and remember......(ask a legal person too) as I understand it if somebody rear ends you its their fault no matter what.....just be sure to have insurance and registration and of course a valid drivers license, other wise its your fault.   Adjust the mirrors so you can't see the light as bad and call it a day.

Good luck    10 and 2 ya know

  10. Russell K is right.    Let the moron get in front of you before the they kill you.

  11. I just slow down and make them pass me.  Life is too short to let small things bother you.

  12. The normal sane person would let them go by---or adjust the mirrors so they don't reflect so harshly on you.  NEVER throw anything or make gestures--we all have to share the road--defensively you want to allow them to go by--avoid the whole issue before it leads to an accident. Good luck--I know what you mean about high beams and misadjusted lights that point into the trees. Just got to be cool and stay calm.

  13. Taking violent action will always result in someone getting hurt. As a semi driver, I suggest you move over asap and then slow down. When I am in my car & that c**p happens, I turn off into a place/rest stop and wait 1 minute for them to go on down the road. I wouldn't want to be involved in the accident they usually end up creating. Their main problem is that they are impatient. You just need to avoid them. I don't know where you live, but in suburban Chicago, that is the norm around here. People are maniacs on I-80/94 around the S side of Chicago going to & fro Indiana. G'luck!

  14. Slow down & let them get around you.  This is a hazzard of small cars or low mirrors.  There is nothing legal you can do, apart from report them to police.  You could campaign for regulations for headlights to be at a single uniform height. They are a pain for me too, til I bought something taller.

  15. i go real slow when people do this to me, then when they try to pass me i floor it lol...

then i flip them off lol

  16. mount a couple of lights from a truck roll bar on the back of your car and have a switch to flip them on . that i'll teach them

  17. Move out of the WAY!
