My daughter has just started a runny nose and I am afraid she is getting a cold. We are leaving for beach vacation in a few days. She is 9 months old, what can a baby take in case she does come down with something?

  1. use saline nasal drops.

  2. infant tylenol and kleenex.

  3. Don't give cold medications.  They're not safe for infants, and they just prolong the cold.

Drip saline nasal drops into her nostrils and use an aspirator to suck everything out.  She'll probably hate it, but it really does shorten the duration of the cold.  Especially when she can't blow her own nose.
