  1. You could work at a firm.  There are many jobs available at different firms, but competition is high.  That's the traditional route for people with economics BA.  Not sure if you can do research but maybe a lower or entry-level research job.  If you took accounting classes you could work in the accounting/payments (something like that) part of a firm- it doesn't have to be a big financial company but it could be something else.  You can also work for an advocacy organization involved with economics/financial responsibility/or social justice.  You can also work for the government- for a legislator...i'm sure they could use someone with an economics degree to help deal with fiscal/spending issues too (and tax).  Hope this helps..and I think you can do more with MBA (and oh ya regardless of whether you go for higher education as in more than master's-- you can go into business.  You could start a business...but you have to get money for it first).

  2. Well you can start by learning how to research because it is essential for the study of econ. Why  don't you type "job economics degree" in the little search window above your question?

Well there are quite a few careers you can persue. You can be an economic, market, or energy (S&D) analyst. You can consult firms on what quantities of a good they should produce or how much they should sell it for. If you study hard, you can be a broker. There's always political consulting as well.

Most economics majors I know are all in research, going to law school, or became professors.

With a minor in politics or philosophy, you could be a prime candidate for law school. If it is a concentration of a business degree, you could be a consultant. Psychology minors re great for marketing research. Math minors are good for research, quantitative assessment, and risk analysis and actuarial sciences.

I was minoring in finance which would have been good for say an investment firm as a financial planner, investment broker, or maybe an analyst, but I dislike accounting (which is similar) and I love science. Environmental economics is big now and geology would be great for commodity-related jobs.
