What can you not bring on a carry-on bag for a flight?

I'm going on vacation tommorow and I was wondering what the rules were for carry on bags. Its mostly just going to be my clothes but I wanted to take a mp3 and my medication and some condoms, I haven't flown on any flight in the last year or two so I don't know the rules is there a problem with any of this on a carry on bag? im in the U.S. thanks

No bottle of ANY liquid over 100 mls. No suncreams etc over 100 mls. No sharp things even nail files. Put all these in the storeage bags/s.
