What can you replace kosher gelatin with?

It's hard to find kosher gelatin in grocery stores, does anyone know what I can replace it with?

  1. It depends what you need it for.  If you just want jello...according to JELL-O (the company),

    "JELL-O Brand gelatin is certified as Kosher by a recognized orthodox Rabbi... and is pareve."

    But, not everyone who keeps Kosher agrees (I put both links below).

    Depending on what you want the gelatin for, you may be able to replace it with several products.

    Also, if you are looking for kosher food- online is a good source. I put another link below for a kosher company I buy A LOT from.


  2. You can buy vegetarian gelatin in the supermarket.It works a treat.

  3. When you make boiled chicken, save the liquid. Refrigerate it and skim the fat. The rest should have gelled. That might help for some used of gelatin. You can get gelatin from other meats in a similar way.
