  1. Brilliant peice of propaganda that does not survive honest scrutiny.

  2. good movie.. frightening - which is why many people are quick to neny it... they are scared.. and want to hide their heads in the sand

for an even cooler movie (with an actual storey ) get CHILDREN OF MEN - and watch the extra features...

(lol the song Running the World - which plays durring credits is also great)

  3. Well a panel in Judges in England of all places found 9 untruths in it and many others have found more than that.

Fact: water vapor has more to do with global warming then CO2. Carbon is not a pollutant and makes up less than .001 percent of the atmosphere.

Fact CO2 is absorbed as food by green things called plants who then emit O2 (oxygen).

Fact: The Sun is the greatest contribute to Global warming

Fact: Ice ages and warming periods occurred many times before SUVs were on the road.

Am I for a cleaner Earth? Yes but not at the expense of Al Gore and the other climatologist who can not predict a 5 day forecast. The models used are manipulated and cannot even model know weather patterns of the past so how can they be considered accurate for the future? THEY CAN'T.

This is all a hoax to make govts bigger and more controlling do not be fooled.

As for the Polar Bears there are more of them now then when they were fist counted. Ice melting helps them get to food not hinder their ability.

A warmer earth is better in the long term think about it. A longer growing season for food better living climates warmer in the winter and fall means less oil burned to create electricity? This alone sounds good to me and lowers my electic bill.  Warmer winters means less snow and uniterupted travel and less accidents.  By the war cooler temps mean MORE hurricanes not less. evidence the last two hurricane seasons were whimpy compared to the season 3 years ago and thus a drought in the south eastern united states occurred and more forrest fires also because the atmosphere holds more water vapor when cooler so not as much rain causing droughts.

Greenland is proof of global warming when farms were there as listed above and a great point also by the way kudos.

    GO NOT BE FOOLED

  4. The science was mostly accurate, but uninformed viewers could easily jump to wrong conclusions (e.g. hurricane Katrina was caused by global warming).  It was a bit sensationalistic, but few people would watch a dry documentary with nothing more than a guy talking with a power-point presentation.

I think better movies have been done since, but Al Gore at least got many people talking about the issue.

Discovery Channels "Global Warming - What you need to know" with Tom Brokaw was good.

History Channels "A Global Warning" was also good from a historical climate perspective.

  5. I haven't seen the movie but I have heard a lot about it.

A major sticking point for his theory is the graph showing the correlation between CO2 levels and temperatures.  He fails to mention that the rise in temperature leads the rise in CO2 by 400 years.

Graphs of the Sun's temperature actually match the rise in global temperatures, which is kind of a no brainer.

  6. It is a discourse designed for popular consumption.  Provided a health warning is added over possible doubts over some aspects it is a valuable contribution to the understanding of man made global warming.

  7. Humm, well i think america would be a much better place with him as president. (sorry this is more about al gore than his movie) but, he like emails my parents all the time about his sponsoring of obama, and its really annoying, cuz he gave obama his mailing list. sorry, uh, but i think his movie is wonderful, we watched it @ my school and the polar bear part was really sad, i think it was gud for kids to see so that they will make a diffrence when they r older.

  8. The claim that much of Gore's evidence has "now been discredited" is itself an untruth. In a work of such breadth and scope as An Inconvenient Truth, the occasional inaccuracy, such as when Gore states that the number of polar bears is diminishing when in fact the numbers were not declining (2006 remember), does not therefore mean that the ice is not melting and in no way disqualifies An Inconvenient Truth as an accurate assessment of global warming due to human activity.

No single work has gone so far to educate so many.

And if you want to compare it with the 'global warming swindle' in terms of accuracy then it is a no brainer.

I also think an interesting observation is to look at the tone of the answers you have received and see which way they lean.

  9. It is an excellent start to help the public better understand the issue and has brought it the attention that it needs.  However, one should not base ones opinion only on that film/book.  If you are interested in learning about global warming from a more scientific perspective check out these books:

The Weather Makers by Tim Flannery

Plows, Plagues, and Petroleum by William F. Ruddiman

  10. it is excellent, truthful, and alarming.

  11. I generally agree with the movie.

Thought I'd mention that there is another movie called-

"After the Warming" that was made in 1989.  You can watch it free on the internet.

    It's pretty well done.

  12. This says a lot.

  13. The facts were good but it was too political and personal.  I don't want to hear him whine about losing the election or how he crashed a car when he was a kid.  He should do a sequel with more relevent facts and less useless distractions.

  14. Did you notice that your government school only gives you the liberal (democrat) slant on everything.  Al Gore lives in a twenty room mansion in Nashville Tennessee when he is not living in one of his other homes.  Google "Al Gore's House" and confirm what I just said.  Then check on the homes of people like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolee.  The earths temperature has gone up one degree in the last hundred years probably because our sun is burning hotter.  It goes in cycles.  Less than a thousand years ago they were farming in Greenland.  Now it is too cold to farm.  That is an inconvenient truth.  There is no doubt we are polluting the planet but I would not put much stock in the words of Al Gore.

  15. It is basically correct.  Some of the scientific details are exaggerated a bit, and there is a lot of dramatization, but the basic idea is right.

  16. Al Gore is an idiot, global warming is caused by natural climate changes not by man.

  17. Gore stands out among politicians who have risked their political career by showing enough guts and common sense to actually try to improve our Earth. Some global warming is surely due to natural changes but  the damage we are doing to our only planet is frightening and to deny that we are causing potentially irreversible damage is to bury our heads in the sand and "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil," while "Rome" burns. We need more influencial people to speak up and get off their proverbial duffs.
