Anyone ever done it? Anyone ever helped a hitchhiker get somewhere? Whats it like from both sides? Im a 16 year old wanting to hitchhike from McFarland Wisconsin to Grinnell Iowa. 223 miles. How long would that take do you think? I want it to be me and a friend if I can find one willing. ANY HELP IS NEEDED! Thank you all so much.

-STORY-

I live in McFarland and she lives in Grinnell. Weve been in love (I dont care what you think about it being love or not) for 6 months and havent been able to be with each other for more than 10 hours. Its killing us both. So much that Im willing to hitchhike to see her. Ive tried alot of things that were better choices than this but theyre all falling apart. Being two high-schoolers with feelings and 250 some miles between you sucks. And I wanna try and make it a bit better.

  1. Ted Bundy (the serial killer) used to pick up hitch-hikers.

    No kidding.

    Good Luck...

  2. I am not sure this is a good idea. have you tried looking at the train?  Then again, I grew up in a prison area and my university is in one now so we never pick up hitch hikers, you never know who they could be.

Also I was under the impression that most of Iowa was under water right now, perhaps you should wait unitll it stops flooding.

If you realy need to see her, get a web cam for your computer and hers, talk that way.

  3. Hitchhiking in rural areas in the United States is VERY DANGEROUS.  Get a greyhound ticket and take the bus, or use Amtrak if it's available.  Do not hitchhike, or you will be sorry.
