  1. When the air pressure is high, it represents good weather but when its low, it represents bad weather. Before  we had TV's we used barometers and if the barometer dropped fast and went too low, we would guess a tornado is about to happen.

  3. When the pressure is high, i.e. above 1013 hPa or 29.9 Hg In, the air tends to sink because on the ground, it will move toward a lower pressure region. With the sinking, the air is adiabatically warmed (just as when you pump you bicycle!) and whatever moisture in the air dissolves, giving place to sunshine. But it also means that during the night the heat from the ground will radiate into space. The night might be colder. Because of that, there might be an inversion (cold air under warm air) and you might see morning fog.

    Because a high pressure is moving slowly, the wind will often been light.
