What can you say about verbal abuse in the family?

I grew up with a mean drunk every night father. He was very good at spewing out hurtful words. I would have rather been physically beaten, than always having my life threatened. It was so bad at one point that I did wish he would have just done what he threatened to do, and just kill us, so I would not have to listen to it anymore.

I moved out in the beginning of my senior year-17 years old, and made it better on my own surviving with just a part time job.

I can say dont do it...It leads to issues later in life if the person being verbally abused is a child..

escape it, dont act on it.

Verbal abuse is one of the most damaging thing that one person can do to another. IT's sad but true.  I don't put up with it.
