What can you say about washing soda: the H2O softener??

pls ans my question before aug 7, this is my report in our chem, i can't find enough answers so i come up with this.

  1. Uumm....It is sodium carbonate. It is closely related to baking soda-just processed slightly differently. It is more more caustic/alkaline than baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and has a pH of about 11.  Na2CO3 is its molecular formula. It has the power to neutralize odors because most odors come from strong acids or strong bases- it deodorizes by bringing these to a neutral state.

    The high alkalinity of washing soda helps it remove a many stains.  It works as a water softener because it binds to the minerals which cause water hard (such as magnesium.)
