Depends on the person's style, but classic clothes, like those from Jones New York or Liz Claiborne, are always in style.

For something casual, perhaps Eddie Bauer or the Gap?

I recently saw on a television program that women lose skin pigmentation over time so, the older we get (not that 40 is older, I am nearly there myself), the more we should wear stronger colours to balance that (i.e. stay away from pastels).

I've also found that scarves are a nice way to add a bit of flair if you have just plain tops.

i would suggest a plain colored t-shirt and jeans for the weekend and add some style with some jewelery like a bracelet or necklace.but for a business look i suggest a matching blazer and skirt

Don't buy teenager style clothes. for work slacks, & blouse with nice  low heels or dress boots.  No dresses,

home: sweats, t-shirt, dinner date: after 5:oo dress or jeans & sey blouse.

i would go with whatever you like..but i am going to keep a eye on this 1 myself, i am 29 & maybe i am too old to be liking junior clothes...but i am curious of what type of wardrobe is suggested...good luck!! :)

Dark wash jeans in a boot cut or straight leg.  Single breasted jackets to wear with pants, skirts and jeans.  Pants that fit you well and are well made and well cut.  Ditto for skirts.  V-neck sweaters, T-shirts with designs and patterns, a nice solid color leather bag (doesn't have to be designer but does have to be leather), high heeled boots, comfortable flats and pumps, and good earrings.  Don't wear cotton turtlenecks, sweaters with animals or embroidery on them, jeans that are high waisted or anything with flowers all over it.  Don't wear polka dots either, unless it's in a skirt.  

Shop at stores that cater to adult women, like Coldwater Creek and JJill, and at the adult section of better department stores like Macy's.  Don't wear flimsy fabrics or anything that a teenager could wear, including jewelry and barrettes.
