Question:

What can you tell me about HollandAmerica Mediterranean Cruise?

My wife and I are thinking of going on a 20-day H.A. cruise to the Mediterranean. We've been on a couple Carnaval cruises before and really love cruising. One of our concerns is, though, that Carnaval is a little too much kid-oriented and not as relaxed as we'd like. We're not really into the "party scene" anymore. We're in our early 30's, have no kids (not having kids) and really don't enjoy hanging around with other people's kids. On the other hand, we don't want to be the only people on the ship that don't have grey hair! We were hoping that H.A. would be a happy medium between the two. We heard that Royal Caribbean can have a lot of "mature" people too. So, Yahoo answerers, what are your thoughts on HollandAmerica? Not just the age group it attracts, but any information that you think is useful. Thanks (in advance).

  2. I don't think Holland America will be the best options for you. They are a very good cruise line, but they tend to attract a more mature audience.

I would look into options on Celebrity, which is Royal Caribbean's more upscale line, or even Royal Caribbean itself. Royal Caribbean does cater to families, so you will see children around, though (not that you won't in any of the other mass market cruise lines, just in lower proportion).

Send me an e-mail if you'd like more information, or if I can help you choose the best option.

    Regards,
