I am reading The Other Boeyln Sister and have just recently watched Elizabeth_The Golden Years, and I am trying to figure out if there is a blood link between Isabela and the English throne.

Isabela Infanta was the daughter King Phillip of Spain, which was Queen Mary 1's husband before she died. He remarried and his third wife gave birth to her, Isabela Infanta, and she was the young girl in Elizabeth: The Golden Age.

Isabela Infanta was Queen Isabel's great-great grandaughter.

Ok, first of all, her name was Isabel, NOT Isabella, that would have been her name had she been Italian.

Second, Queen Ísabel  died in 1504, so, um. 1600,  dead, buried, still, in Granada.

Isabel is the mother of Catherine of Argon, the first wife of Henry the eighth. they had one daughter Mary I  and mary's  half sister is Elizabeth whose mother was Anne Boelyn and second wife to henry the eighth.

Isabella was never "Queen of Spain", she was only titled Infanta Isabella Clara Eugenia of Spain. Together with her husband Albert VII, Archduke of Austria, they were joint sovereign of the Habsburg Netherlands in the Low Countries and the north of modern France.

There is a blood link between Isabella and the English throne, however, she is far down the line of succession, probably placed behind 100's of other royals around Europe during that time. She descended from the English royal house through Catherine of Lancaster and Philippa of Lancaster, both daughters of John of Gaunt.

Isabella was born in Segovia on 12 August 1566, the daughter of Philip II of Spain and his third wife Elisabeth of Valois. Her paternal grandparents were Emperor Charles V and Isabella of Portugal. Her maternal grandparents were Henry II of France and Catherine de' Medici. She was already 30 years old by the year 1600.

In the 2007 film Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Isabella appeared in a minor role at the side of her father, Philip II of Spain, at the time of the attempted invasion of England by the Spanish Armada in 1588. The movie portrays Isabella as Philip's choice to replace Elizabeth on the throne of England. She was portrayed as a young girl rather than as the correct age of twenty-two years old.
