  1. spouting rubbish? naw i think his assesment of oscar de la hoya's career is right on the money!

  2. Oscar was a amateur standout. He was National Golden Gloves champion in 1989, and the National Amateur Featherweight champ in 1990. In 1991 he was United States Amateur lightweight champion. And, obviously, he won the gold medal in the Olympics in Barcelona 1992, which is why he's called "The Golden Boy". He finished his amateur career with a 223-5 (163 knockouts) record.

He's Mexican-American and grew up in Los Angeles. His mother died of breast cancer shortly after the Olympics, I think.

Interesting fact: He's actually left-handed, but fights in a right-handed stance, which is why his left hook is so good.

I'm sure you can find everything else you're looking for online, but hope this helps.

  3. he is latino

  4. i can tell you i'm not watching anymore of his fights for money

  5. He NEVER cheated on his wife!!!!!!!!!  Dont say stuff like that!

  6. Listen to A.C. then read Oscar's new book...featured on back of Oscar's Ring magazine (latest issue)...as an amateur he had 223 wins and 163 knockouts, culminate in his win at 1992 Olympics. Turned pro 7 months later. He clearly beat Felix Trinidad and was robbed of decision in his first pro loss. Also beat Moseley in 2nd fight and might have beaten Mayweather. He is a great fighter but perhaps lacks the final barbaric edge and need to win above all else that set Robinson, Ali, Leonard apart. Technically as good as anyone who ever fought. Wants to be boxing's irst billionaire. Has rematch with Mayweather in the works and a new book due out soon (w. Steve Slater ghost writing). Fairly bright for a champion boxer and can be charming. From East L.A. Was the "favorite son" of his folks...but read his story. Huge attraction, unlike any fighter not a heavyweight, with only Ray Robinson's popularity in black America...and with Hollywood...coming close. See Wikipedia and "The Ring"

  7. he can't beat pretty boy floyd

  9. i can tell you a bunch of stuff, but the best and shortest answers is to go on google and type in oscar de la hoya wikipedia, all you need to know is there.

  10. Hes latin good boxer but getting and still wants to fight he fought mayweather in the fight of the year and lost , hes also a boxing promoter and he was found cheating on his wife

  11. got robbed in three standout performances, vs trinidad,vs mosley 2 and easily beat mayweather, help transend the sport of boxing,is the highest paid boxer ever! gets about 20 million dollars a fight,or more,is the only fighter ever to win 6 world titles in 6 different wieght divisions, fought the best compitition in history and beat them all, except for the judges bad descions.has beaten 16 world champions and is now a succesful boxing promoter....there is a group of oscar haters who are jealous of his success in the ring or out.i think it was probably the boyfriends of some of the girls oscar laid when he wasnt married....
