  1. Hey guys! heavy crime is low, but pick pockets are everywhere. Not from Swiss ppl, but from asyl & comers! They just steal from those what you call tourists! So u still have to take care of your wallet!

If you are at tourists place, such as Lucerne, Interlaken or business area in Zürich, Geneva. Many people speak very good english there!!!

Narrow down which parts of Switzerland you wanna go!

    Swiss food:

    Käsefondue - cheese fondue

    Kalbgeschnetzel mit Rösti

  2. If you go to the official tourism site for a country, they will send you a free map and travel guides, which might help you plan for your trip.

  3. Switzerland (German: die Schweiz, French: Suisse, Italian: Svizzera, Romansh: Svizra), officially the Swiss Confederation, is a landlocked alpine country in Central Europe. This small multilingual country, of a little over 7 million people, has four national languages, German, French, Italian, and Romansch; however, the first of these, German, is only written or used for formal situations, and several variants and dialects are spoken commonly, and collectively are named as "Swiss German". It is bordered by Germany, France, Italy, Austria, and Liechtenstein. It dates its independence to 1291; historically it was a confederation, and it has been a federation since 1848, with a current division into 26 cantons. Switzerland has a strong economy in finance and banking, rates highly in international economic standards despite its small size, and maintains a long and strong tradition of political and military neutrality. This background allows Switzerland to host various international organizations, such as the United Nations, which, though headquartered in New York, has many departments in Switzerland. The safety, security, and scenic beauty of the country, for walking, hiking, and skiing, give it a strong and robust tourism sector.

Confoederatio Helvetica, the country's official Latin name, means Helvetic Confederation. The use of Latin avoids having to favour one of the four national languages. The abbreviation (CH) is used for the same reason. The titles commonly used in French (Confédération suisse), Italian (Confederazione Svizzera) and Romansh (Confederaziun svizra) translate as "Swiss Confederation", while the German name of Schweizerische Eidgenossenschaft translates literally as "Swiss Oath Fellowship" or "Swiss Commonwealth of the Covenant". The term for a native of Switzerland is Swiss (German Schweizer, singular male Schweizer, female Schweizerin; French Suisses, male Suisse, female either Suisse or Suissesse; Italian Svizzeri, male Svizzero, female Svizzera).

  4. hi....

Switzerland basically devided into 3 regions that speaks German, French and Italy....although not very fluently, mostly can understand English specially when you go  to tourist areas...

I would prefer German speaking region and Italy compare to French speaking Swiss...I found that they are more arrogant somehow....(sorry no offend)

Crime rate....no worries....its much safer than Italy, Paris even London...

    Interesting places:

    1. Lugano (must see old town, lake)

    2. Montreux (lake side view .....fantastic)

    3. Zermatt, Saas Fee (Ski Resorts)

    You have to:

    1. enjoy wines, cheese, chocolate, dairy products, local food (raclette, fondue)

    2. Skiing!!!!!

    3. Take pictures

  5. Good Swiss Cheese.

  6. Skiing   !!!!

  7. It is a beautiful country in the EU!  You are on the right track about your proposed trip to that place!  Check with the local consulate about visa requirements!

  8. I LOVE SWITZERLAND. It's such a great place. And no people don't really speak English. Mostly German. And the crime rate is very low. And it's not that expensive. Especially compared to the Euro. You only need a visa if your going to be there longer than 3 months. I suggest going to Mt. Titlis and taking a cable car 10,000 feet in the air. Than once you get 1/4 of the way down, rent a bike and ride down the mtn. It was the funnest thing I've ever done. And the scenery everywhere is wonderful. Interlaken is also so beautiful. Go to http://www.myswitzerland.com . And go to the map. It'll show you all the wonderful places.

  9. It a very great place for vacation.but very expensive country:)
