  1. Well we used what was called gasolol for 11 months  in 1989 full size van,it was only 10 cents a gallon cheaper. My mileage went from 20 miles a gallon to 13. I will not be using it again. They are going to have to do way better than that as it costs me and had no value on the enviroment.

  2. I know it takes 1 gallon of fossil fuel to make 1.3 gallons of ethanol

on the up side, we dont have to invade any more oil producing countries if we run out of gas.

  3. Ethanol is not an efficient fuel alternative to gasoline.   Ethanol contains less energy per gallon compared to gasoline  (however, the speed of your car is not related to energy per gallon but rather energy converted to work over a period of time).

Ethanol increases the cost of a gallon of fuel, increases the cost of food, and decreases the miles per gallon.

The Ethanol laws are the results of lobby efforts to our government representatives from corporations that benefit from increased farming.

Coal is a much better alternative to Middle East oil. The problem is that coal is currently used primarily in electricity generation plants. Putting coal in your car is little harder unless you utilize the proven Fischer-Trospch process: http://www.a2dvoices.com/realitycheck/En...

  4. Makes your car FAST.  But will burn up the valves too, if you use it too much.  I suppose a tiny bit each week wouldn't hurt.

but put in alot and your car will take off like a rocket,  and will burn up the valves

  5. Don't drink it. Don't smoke it.

Also, it gets really bad mileage - nearly half of gasoline mileage.

  6. can your car take ethinol? you should find out that first but if it can then dont go to the trouble of buying one because there is someting thats bad for the earth but not as bad as gas. most gass staions sell ethinol blends. it's made from corn.

  7. If there is a drought prices and production would suffer.

  8. that its more enviromentally friendly more expensive no different on cars and is the combination of eth and anol.

  9. My wife and I bought a SUV that will take either fuel.......

This is how it works its no cheepher in the long run

Unleaded is $2.85 a gallon here and it holds 28 gallons

    Ethanol is $1.95 a gallon

The problem is on Unleaded we get 400 miles to a tank

Ethanol we only get 200 it burns it faster so in the long run its about the same......

    Hope this helps

  10. Do you own a DRAGSTER?

  11. BTUs per gallon for gasoline: 114,100

BTUs per gallon for pure Ethanol: 76,100

Ethanol holds more water than gasoline, which is EXTREMELY bad for any internal combustion engine.  Ethanol is more corrosive than gasoline, which is the reason cars have to be designed to be "flex-fuel."

Ethanol's source can be any crop, America would probably use corn.  Crops can be devastated by minor changes in climate or circumstances (ie: frost, disease, pests, fire).

  12. energy Density? nice wording for to make BS sound good, ethanol has higher octane than gas ,gas is 87 Ethanol 101 but since cars are built in this country to run on gas they have a lower compression ratio, True corn is a poor producer of ethanol at 200 gal. per acre but sugar beets and other crops can get up to 2000 per acre. and if we build cars better we can get mileage increase off of ethanol, it runs cooler so cars last longer, Detroit hates that. the 30% that people are throwing arround is the heating value...gas burns at about 1300 and Ethanol at about 1000 to 1100 but cars do not run on heat....that is a waste by product of combustion. Henry Ford Built all of his cars to run on ethanol until 1919, the scam is big oil saying that we can't use ethanol to support auto's we can but changes need to be made, ethanol is clean burning, about 90% better than gas. Cost will drop if cars start being built to run on ethanol, and the cost of ethanol will drop as more gets available the answer for next twenty or more years will be ethanol...oil has peaked and will continue to rise in cost. as well as wars etc. more BS is told about ethanol by the oil companies...it will not harm your car under Most circumstances. but it will need to be re tuned is not more corrosive, than gas unless your car is real old and had lead in the gas tank lineing. it runs 30% cooler so is better in the long run for the motor.

  13. IT IS AN ALTERNATIVE FUEL AND IT SHOULD EXPLORED

  14. Ethanol is not as good as gasoline for cars, and it is total BS.  It takes as much or more energy to produce ethanol than it produces given the amount of energy needed to grow the crop, and process it into a fuel.  Government subsidies make it so the fuel can be economically produced.  Without these subsidies, farmers and fuel refineries would not make money off of the fuel.  One senator, or representative, pushing hard for the expansion of ethanol owns shares in one of the processing plants.

Basically, ethanol is just a way for a few people to cash in on the whole 'green' movement.  Trick people into thinking it's good for the environment and laugh all the way to the bank.

Plus, how will we feed 6 billion people with all the farmland being used for fuel production?
