  1. Paxton's Head is Knightsbridge's best kept secret!  It is located alongside the south end of Hyde Park on the main road towards Kensington.  Our clientele are a mixture of business people, advertising agents and shoppers, with 80% being regulars who work nearby.  Set on three floors, this Victorian pub was built in about the 1850's and has original oak panels, etched mirrors and glass on the ground floor with an authentic Irish bar.  Below, there is a traditional lounge bar and upstairs is a modern Asian theme, canteen style restaurant with 43 covers.  This gastro pub prides itself on it's cuisine.  All food is fresh and cooked to order from two menus.  The European style menu operates in the bar and lounge whilst the Asian Pan menu is served throughout the pub.  A big favourite is the Nasi Goreng which is chicken and prawn fried rice!  As all the chefs are from Hong Kong or Malaysia the food is reliably authentic.  There is a good choice of wines to make your meal complete or, if you prefer, a wide selection of real ales or bottled drinks to choose from.  Come along soon and discover the secret for yourself

  2. The Paxton whose head is celebrated in the pub's name is Joseph Paxton the splendid 19th century architect who designed the Crystal Palace and the Tropical House at Kew Gardens. It is from his workers who were erecting the nearby Crystal Palace in Hyde Park, who frequented this place, that the pub got it's name.

  3. Absolutely nothing although I'm sure it's very nice.

  4. he gives a good one
