  1. WHOA, no that is not okay to use. The insulation? No, not at all. If you can't get to the store try ripped up plain paper towels or something.

  2. I find that the wheat shavings work also, they cost a little more, but they are worth it. Yesturdays news also works.

  3. Use nothing but 3 or 4 clean white facial tissues, which she will tear up to form her own nest. Nothing more is needed. Every few day, simple remove the old torn tissues, and replace when with a few fresh clean new ones. She will love them more than any other single thing you giver her to nest because they are soft clean and warm.

  4. Soft stuff from your attic?! Insulation??? If it's the insulation, NOOOO. Take that out. Use shredded paper towels or paper, fleece blankets or towels.

  5. if is not fiberglass....do not use the fiberglass stuff

....the stuff i the attic may be cellulose, typically ground up, shreaded paper....once it is dry. like from the attic should be okay, if it smells clean-like, without ammonia smell

...newspaper is the cheapest home stuff, but the best is nice wood shavings, the curley kind....maybe you can add some of those shavings sometime too

...you could use a towel for part of the bedding

  6. no, no, no!!! some people are allergic to it and it causes them to itch like crazy youre hamster could have the same allergy buy some aspen or carefresh bedding.and no pine or cedear it has been known to cause respitory infections.

  7. I use to use empty rolls of toilet paper. He loved them. He would chew them up and before you knew it Tadah!! he had made his own litle bed :-)

  8. definitely get rid of that insulation. it could be very harmful if they start to chew it and they could die. why dont you just buy the hamster wool from a pet shop it doesnt cost much. if anything just use some soft tissue paper

  9. no that'll irritate their lungs...anything that's not made with cedar should be okay. but don't be afraid to ask your vet :)
