  1. A kilowatt is 1,000 watts. Since power is a rate of using energy, the length of time does not figure into the calculation. So just look at the label on the appliance or in the manual and find ones that add up to 1,000. 10 light bulbs of 100 watts would do it.

  2. The best way to consume a kilowatt is the use of a resistance such as an incandescent bulb.  10, 100 watt bulbs will use one kilowatt hour of power in one hour and 5, 200 watt bulbs will do the same.

Devices using an electric motor, mixers, fans, etc use a variable of amount of power because of the drag on the motor and the power factor.  For example an electric mixer in water consumes less power than say mashing potatoes.

  3. Do you mean: To PRODUCE 1 KW-hour?

Your house plug should do it.
