  1. The environmentalist have got your car adjusted to about 10 deg. before top dead center. To get the most power it needs to fire at 14 deg before top dead center. This reduces the cylinder temperature which reduces the production of NO2. But it increases the CO ,which we know is poison.

  2. My new crossover Suzuki fails to get that award. The trip computer on the dash says I only get 15 to a gallon on average. And that's a long way from the 28 promised! Do yourself a favor and don't buy one of these things! I also have a V6 Hyundai and it gets better MPG!

  3. H2 jk

    no not the prius

earth friendly individuals and environmentally prominent people have altered vehicles to receive twice and even three times the mileage per gallon than the prius

but i believe currently the prius is the commercially sold most fuel efficient vehicle, excluding pure electric or solar

  4. VW Polo - 60-70 MPG

  5. Pagani zonda F , you gotta stay in 6th gear and drive carefully though, lol

  6. The new-to-the-U.S. smart fortwo actually has the highest mpg rating, expected round 50-60 mpg average, but it's only a two seater with a little cargo room, and its size is only really conducive to city driving.

  7. If you can wait, wait 2 or 3 years.  Plug-in hybrids are coming, as well as Vw's hybrid diesel which is reported to get in the 80 mpg range, and pure electrics like the Volt may be developed by then.

  8. http://water4fuel.info has a very informative site relating to utilizing water as fuel. Free video explains how it's easily done!

  9. The Toyota Prius.

  10. the bus we cant drive no more not when gas prices are almost as high as our mortgage

  11. Whoever said the Smartcar has the most is WRONG. What's sad about the smartcar is that it doesn't even run on an alternative fuel source. Just gas. Check out their website and it says 40-45mpg. That's nothing! It's okay mileage but there is better. If you are wealthy, you are better off getting a Tesla/Lotus that is full electric and goes 100miles+ on one charge and over 100mph. But if you aren't that diehard on saving the environment, the hybrids are your best bet because they aren't outrageously expensive. Me personally, I'm going to buy myself a Zapino or Bravo moped and when they come out and I have enough money, I'm getting the VentureOne!!!

  12. Right now it's the Toyota Prius at 47 mpg.

In the next year or two there will be several electric cars coming out which will be the most efficient on the road, and the 2009 Prius is supposed to get 80 mpg in the city.

But at the moment it's the 2004-2008 Prius that gets the best mileage.

  13. depends on what state you live in.
