  1. No insurance will give any kind of a policy without some payment at the start of the coverage period.  There are some companies that will allow monthly payments with maybe a month or 2 up front.  Try Safe Auto or Progressive, also, look in the yellow pages some brokers may advertise low up front payments or monthly payments.

  2. An insurance policy IS a contract - and to be a contract, there has to be "Offer and Acceptance."

I OFFER you the contract and you ACCEPT it (by paying money.)

Look around - you might find some agents in your local area that offer a lower initial payment than others - but - normally, you're going to have to pay SOMETHING to start the policy.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  3. None that I've seen.

  4. You didn't say what state your located in.

There are a few companies that accept post-dated checks as down payments, typically 7 days is max depending on state law (try 1-800-safe-auto).  Most require 30-45 days  down payment. You could use a credit card for payment.

  5. Get monthly insurance then all you have to pay is the 1st months payment. You always pay in advance for that and it is easier to find one months worth than the whole lot.

  6. In order to have your car ensured, you'll have to pay at least one month; which makes sense...

So, I don't think you'll find a company that will allow you to not pay before being ensured.

Well, the web has a lot of resources so making a search does not cost and probably will help you.
