  1. a 2003-05 Civic or corolla.

  2. the cheapest thing you can find. No matter how well behaived you may think your boy is, boys will be boys at some point. good chance there will be an accident also, so let him learn from a clunker and afer awhile he can advance to something more expensive and nicer.

  3. before you get him something...make him do something which shows he's responsible. maybe a job, extracuricular activity, community service, taking an SAT class during the summer or something. Then its up to you...give him a price range. That should be up to you. I have friends who drive used hondas and i have friends who drive new bmw 5 series. But give him a price range tell him some stuff that the car should have. Like good gas. Make him do the research and let him decide which car he should get. It's better than you deciding on getting him something he won't like.

--I'm 17 and was given a price range, after i got a job, along with my brother. we decided to combine our price range to get 1 nice car. we're getting the new hyundai genesis sedan.

  4. 92-95 Honda Civic VX Hatchback. 48/55 EPA mpg.

  5. I really think safety should be the top priority. Around 50% of all 16-18 year Old Drivers will crash. This is why I would recommend:

    1) Volvo S40

    2) Saab 9-3

    3) Honda Civic- I know it is Asian

Though they may not be as reliable as the Japanese cars, or as comfortable as the American Cars, Europe knows how to build some safe cars.

  6. a 1997 jetta stylish and its nice on gas 45mpg+ stylish again they keep their value and their not american, oh and its super safe i have had 4 jettas : ) my mom my dad had 2 and my uncle had one and u can find one for about 3,000 or even less

  7. a ford escort. as long as you keep the oil changed and tuneups every once in a while they will last for ever. im a mechanic, and it so happens i own one. and so far ive put over 200 thousand miles and it still runs strong.
