What car rental company should I pick?

Question

It's my first time renting a car and I'm not very familiar with all these rental companies. I was going to go with Enterprise, but I read online that they're not very reliable.

The rental will be for 1 day and it will be a round-trip.

For a one-day rental, find the best rate and go with it.  Best way to find the best rate?  Go to any of the travel web sites (travelocity, orbitz, etc) and enter the airport you're renting from.  Not flying?  Choose the option where you can enter an address to find the closest car rental companies.  Want the best service?  Don't have the company pick you up - get a ride to the company that has the lowest rate.  If you're renting for just one day, you will not be a priority for the car rental company, especially if you've never rented there before.  You may end up waiting a while.  Also, it's a good idea to do your homework -- check the company's website to find out the rental requirement and their policies on insurance coverage.  Hope this helps.

for one day i would go with anyone but yeah enterprice charges a lot for the best rate go with avis

I've used Enterprise and Hertz before. I don't know how much Hertz charged because the other party's insurance paid for it. I got the same type of service with both companies. Both were polite and picked me up. I prefer Enterprise though. Here in South Texas, they have a lot of locations so that's probably why I pick them over anyone else. You should call around and get quotes from the top companies and see who would better suit your needs.

I have always used Hertz and I don't have any complaints. The last time I needed to rent a car I reserved a Mustang. It was there when I needed it, it was in good shape and everything. The people were really friendly and thourough. When I got back there was a guy waiting for me, he took the car, printed a reciept right there and I was on my way. This was at the Manchester, NH airport by the way...
