The Nissan will have a better value for as long as  you own it. I had an Altima and I loved it. I had no major problems with it. If you take care of the car, the car will take care of you!

They all nice but if your going to spend up to $24k for a small car you might as well look onto Mid-sized cars. For 24k you can get a fully loaded 09' Hyundai Sonata. http://www.2009sonata.com/

If your looking for good gas mileage you can get 4 Cly Sonata with all the equipment as well. At 175 hp it will get the same mpg as the cars you are looking at (22/32).

It's sounds like you want something small and sporty but I'm just giving another option that may be better for the money.

Don't buy a mazda, you'll regret it. Get a nissan, they're made in america.
