I am buying a Dodge Intrepid, just need help deciding which one. There is a 2001 with 67000 on it, or there is a 2003 with 97000 on it. I like the 01 b/c it has 30,000 less miles, but I like the 03 b/c it is 2 years newer. I am really not sure what to do. Buy the one with lower miles, or buy the newer one? Thanks!

  1. Have you done much research on these?

I would hate to see anyone go through what some of these people have! I hope you get a very nice car that is reliable.

  2. Gosh... this is tough. Given the choice, I'd take the lower-mileage one. Miles are an indication of how much the parts have been used... so you can presume that the car with the lower mileage means the parts are less-likely to fail.

BUT, you're in New York = rust. So a younger car would likely have less rust. Hmmm....

I'd go with the lower mileage one though... but just by a narrow margin.
