going around the world. i need a car that can handle all types of surfaces. Not too expensive. Any ideassS?

something like an older mondeo, I have a mk1 1.8 zetec that I bought  as a run around 3 years ago. It had 154000 miles on the clock cost £450. Still going strong at 196000 miles, does 40 to a gallon, and drives like new. I ve never known anything like it! Revs freely to 6500 rpm, and just takes everything I throw at it.
