What card comes with the HSBC Basic Account?

I applied for a standard Bank Account but my credit rating is in ruins! SO they said I could only have a Baisc Bank account. It seems OK. But what card do they give you? Recent openers only please cos I think everyone recently phased out the ***** Electron.

My sister has an HSBC Basic Account.

They provide you with a simple ATM card - can only be used over the counter or at the ATM machines. The card can't be used in shops, online or to pay bills.

an atm card thats about it really, know how you feel im in the same boat. no debit card or over draft facility  just a straight forward 'self service card' looks like a toy card, you cant even sign it.

im gonna give you a bit of advise. run from hsbc. they let your account go overdrawn by giving you a buffer zone, but then theyll charge you 25 pounds each time this happens. natwest offer a step account that wont let go overdrawn. they offer a solo card which can be used in shops and at the post office. and after a while theyll allow you to convert your account into a normal current account.
