What career is better an Electrician, or Welder?

I don't know what is better, i have seen both, and both are very appealing. What are the differences in pay, time to learn, etc. If you guys have experience in one or both, please share!

as a union electrician, 30 yrs +, i can rec school for outside elec/ inside elec. everyday is different(job, weather,people). this is a dangerous job, but also a mind/body challenge. look up in phone /BetterBusiness book for a hall that offers apprentship program or contact utility co. in your area abt a PSI training program through your college/university.
