I'm majoring in communications with a concentration in media. I was wondering what careers would be available for me. I'm aware that television and radio are two obvious choices, but what else?

  1. TV and radio, obviously, but also print media such as magazines, newspapers and etc.; web-based media, advertising, film, and public relations. It all depends on how you focus your courses, and importantly, on which internships and work on campus you do.

I strongly suggest that you get involved in media on campus. Join the campus tv and radio stations, work for the newspaper, do media work for the clubs you join on campus (writing their press releases, for example). Once you have those sorts of experiences on your resume, you can use them to get an internship. And that internship, plus the work you did on campus, are going to get you a job when you graduate.
