Other than a French teacher or a translator, I'm not sure where French fluency would be a huge part of a job. I'm going to be a senior next year and I really need to think about what I want to do.

  1. Being a cook or a chef requires some fluency in French.

  2. My friend went to UNC Chapel Hill and majored in French, spent her sophomore year in France, met and fell in love with a Frenchman, returned after graduation, married him and birthed 3 children. Now she'd like to get a massage therapist degree.

Language proficiency is only going to get you a job as a teacher, translator, or working in a call center that fields calls from French speakers. You could move to Canada, some countries in South America or Africa, and your fluency would be a plus.
