What careers are there in writing?

I like two things in life: animals and writing. Writing stories, poems, etc.

I believe that people should have a career in things they like and not just things that provide a good income. Without a doubt, income (for me anyway) is very important. But I want a job I can enjoy for years while still having a good pay.

I am aiming for a career in animals. But the careers I have found either aren't easily obtained and takes a lot (a vet, for an example) or don't make enough money (I'd love to be a wildlife biologist, but I don't they make more than $32, 000 a year)

So, my next interest being writing, what careers are there in this subject and what is a general income for them?

For example, song writer, journalist, etc.

I don't know much about having a career in writing and it's harder to find than I thought. So any information is great.

there is a very good carrier in writing because it is very interesting as you express your feelings in it. javed akhtar got life achievement  award for giving his great words to bollywood so every can get inspiration from for becoming a writer.
