I had a 1994 pontiac sunbird and it was $1600 to insure. And I resently found a 2002 hyundai elantra-but it was going to be $3000+ to insure....so I had to let the car go.

Any help?

  1. I think - you should also compare insurance quotes for these cars before buying one, for example here: http://carinsurance.deep-ice.com

  2. Look for a 4 door or stationwagon. Also, stay american because the replacement parts are cheaper, the older the car, the cheaper to insure. See if you can lower the coverage. Usually, if a car is financed, the bank will require you to keep full coverage on the car until it's paid for, so pay in cash, if possible.
