Question:

What cars can carry full sheets of plywood?

I thought of all of these already. I saw a volvo v70? in a Loews parking lot yesterday. If I had a tape measure on me I would have measured it. It looked wide enough and almost long enough, might have to run with the hatch open but would work maybe. Thanks for your help. .

  1. I seriously doubt any car can inside unless you go way back to the monsterous full sized american station wagons. My suburban can but I am not aware of any car with anywhere near that much room inside.

But roof racks are not very expensive, or you can rent one and carry full sheets that way,

Just be sure to tie them down well, and keep your speed down, the updraft from the wind over your hood catching the plywood is quite powerful.

Even most small pickups wont carry a full sheet inside the box without extensions or a rack over the cab.

  2. Yukon XL and Chevy Suburban.

Funny you should mention this I am on my way to get plywood for dock repairs today.

  3. Old school Chev El Camino or Ford Ranchero will hold a standard sheet of plywood.

  4. You'll need a minivan to do it.

  5. tie it to your roof but put a blanket underneath so you dont scratch your roof.
