What category of game does spore belong to?

i am a huge spore fan and will get the game regardless but i was curious what game category spore belongs to? from clips i have seen it looks like a rpg at the beginning and then turns into a rts later then it goes to a freestyle game later that has no sole purpose to it. any help on the matter would be appreciated

I'm a Spore fan too! Now It's a combination of RPG and MMORPG. So you can say its a RPG, but they may need to make a new catagory for the game. May not be right but MMOORPG aka. "Massive Multiplayer Online Offline Role Playing Game", or something like that.
