What cause Optic Nerve Disease?

peace be upon you all :)

i just wanted to know what cause Optic Nerve Disease?

becouse it's look like there is no doctor in my country know what is the causes

i don't know if this is the right name of the disease

but didn't study english so i hope you can understand

when i was 17 i lost 1 eye

but i took a mideson called cortizone i guess

for about 6 mounths

and i'm okay now

but could it come back? i'm so afraid :(

and so is my family.

a doctor told me to take mideson called "rebef"or"anti ferron or verron" i'm not sure :P

but if you know it..is it good?

and now after 3 yeares i had problems with the cornea

they said there is no glasess or cure or anything :(

is that right?

i asked so many questions sorry but i'm so afraid that maybe i will lose my eye :(

  1. I'm sorry, it is difficult to help you with little information.

    It sounds as though you may have had 'optic neuritis'. This condition causes a sudden loss of vision in one eye which recovers after a few months.  It can come back again.  Google for more information about this condition.

    Some people with optic neuritis eventually go on to develop Multiple Sclerosis, it sounds like the medecine may have been 'beta-interferon', a treatment for Multiple Sclerosis.

    It is too hard to help you without much information online

    You need to find a doctor you can trust who can explain your diagnosis and treatment to you so you can understand it.
