What cause a phone not to ring and the answering machine not to come on.?

We just bought a new phone and already having problems with it. It will not ring, and the machine doesn't come on. We have no idea when someone is trying to call, but we can call out. It is one of those phones that has 3 head sets.

handset or headset???

just plug the main (base-phone) in...! go to the soft-button display and go up and down until you see the ringer symbol..!

make sure all you handsets a fully charged (12hours)

also tell us the make/model?

try checking to make sure the ringer is on...theen look for the power button on the machine....look on the box for directions....also...u 4got to mention the brand. that will help....you can google it by model # at the website for the brand

Your phone may not be compatible with your phone service, if you have a VOIP line, or newer phone service through the cable line. Just a thought.
