What caused the Georgia Russian war? ?

  1. The break away territory in Georgia is mostly Russian citizens.  After accusations of genocide, the UN allowed Russia to send in peace keepers.  Accusations flew that Georgian troops fired on Russian peace keepers.  Georgia accused the people in the territory of leading a militaristic break away rather than a political one.  Georgia was just maintaining law in their own country.  Georgia and Russia accuse each other of attacking civilians in order to get the higher moral ground.


  2. I'm not sure of the exact reason but I did hear a reporter comment that Russia wants the world (especially the USA) to know that they are still a power to be reckoned with.
